OK, not really, but another blog covering the MORPG scene has popped up out of nowhere. For another opinion on the subject and game reviews check out MMOverdose. Blog author, Scythe, has posted several entries for one’s perusal, including a feature on upcoming MORPGs worth checking out. Good stuff.
Now I have to get my priorities in order and make sure my blog is up to snuff. Uuuugh.
Yay competition. ^_^

For those curious about the tools and engines used by the videogame industry and interested in insider news, be sure to check out Game Developer Magazine. The latest issue features a postmortem of KingIsle Entertainment’s MMO Wizard101. I found it to be a fun and informative read. The amount of people and time it takes to make a game is always inspiring. How many developers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
This publication is different from mainstream game journalism one can purchase from magazine racks. I’ll let the magazine speak for iteslf:
Game Developer, the print publication written specifically for creators of entertainment software, provides technical and industry information to over 35,000 professional game developers. Each month, industry leaders and game development experts share technical solutions, review new products, and discuss strategies for creating innovative, successful games. Professional game developers count on Game Developer magazine for the most relevant and respected content in the game industry.
Which reminds me, I have to renew my print subscription.

Another promising MORPG from our friends at the Online Game Core. Tale of Wonder, formerly Planet Plush, is built using Elysium Diamond 3.3.2. Developed by Punika with help from Spooner and Samhatis, this is one game that has many players excited about its potential. The pixel art released for viewing by the public is easy on the eyes. Once again, for more info, see the official development thread at the Online Game Core.
